Thirteen people serve on the Land Assemblage Redevelopment Authority (LARA) board, a group working with developers and communities to build affordable homes.
This group of 13 is appointed by the Mayor, City Council, Harris County, and HISD, governing bodies that give LARA members authority, the power to acquire assemble, manage, market, and develop property. The property LARA manages is acquired through foreclosure or delinquent taxes.
